Jim noted that Needy Basket started in 1946, is a 100% volunteer, 501c3 organization, located at 330 South Fifth Street in Tipp City. From 2009 to 2014 they have tripled their assistance to Southern Miami County families, and in 2014 they served 409 unduplicated households. Needy Basket was the first non-profit recipient of the new Miami County Give Where You Live giving circle who donated $7,600 to them in November. Their Christmas Basket program is underway, with distribution slated on Dec. 19.
