Aug. 23

BURGLARY:A deputy was dispatched to the 9600 block of Haskett Lane, Bethel Twp. in reference to a possibly burglary in progress. The homeowner returned home to find someone walking out of her front door. The suspect jumped into a vehicle in the driveway and sped off. The homeowner started to go inside her home when she noticed it was a burglary. She then went back outside and called 911. Case pending.

ACCIDENT: A deputy responded to an accident with injuries on County Road 25A under the Farrington Exchange in Washington Township. A male driver traveling South on 25A struck the rear of another vehicle heading South on 25A.

The male was cited for assured clear distance ahead and transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for Minor injuries. The female driver and female passenger of the struck vehicle were also transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for minor injuries.

OVI: Pamela Brester requested a welfare check on her daughter in the 6000 block of Peters Road, Tipp City. All was well with those at the residence. Pamela arrived at the residence and was subsequently arrested for OVI (RC 4511.19A) and released to James Hartz at the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

Aug. 24

OVERDOSE: A deputy was dispatched to the 3000 block of Lilac Lane, Tipp City, on a possible overdose. A deputy arrived and administered Narcan. The subject was transported to UVMC for treatment.

SEX OFFENDER: A deputy responded to Troy Budget Inn to do an address verification check on a registered sexual offender, Jeffery Smith. After further investigation, it was found that Jeffery Smith is no longer staying at the address and has not updated a new address with the SORN Office.

TRAFFIC ISSUE: After investigating an accident at State Route 571 and Wheelock Road, Union Twp., an officer cited Dean Harmon for driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was cited with assured clear distance, leaving the scene of a crash, fail to control and driving under suspension. He was released to his sister.

JAIL ISSUE: Deputies responded to the Miami County Incarceration Facility in reference to drug paraphernalia being

located on an inmate. After further investigation the inmate was charged with conveyance.

Aug. 25

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A report of windows broken in a home was reported in the 2900 block of North Montgomery County Line Road, Tipp City. The reporting party accused his ex-wife of breaking the windows. She denied that she had broken the windows. Due to no evidence and both parties being the owner of the home, no charges were filed.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: A deputy responded to the area of State Route 201 and US Route 40 on the report of a disorderly subject. After further investigation the individual was located and transported the Huber Heights Emergency Center for treatment.

OBSTRUCTING OFFICIAL BUSINESS: Deputies responded to the overpass on County Road 25-A, Tipp City, in reference to a hit/skip accident without injuries. After further investigation a male was incarcerated for obstructing official business along with several traffic violations.

TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS: A deputy was traveling north bound on State Route 201, approaching the intersection of Studebaker Road, when the officer observed the listed vehicle drive through the intersection without stopping at a posted stop sign. While conducting a traffic stop, the deputy spoke with the driver, Christopher Bosma, who stated that he was suspended when asked for his driver’s license.

When running Mr. Bosma through LEADS, the deputy confirmed Mr. Bosma was driving under suspension and cited him for failing to stop at a stop sign and driving under suspension. The vehicle was then released to a valid driver.

RENTAL CAR ISSUE: An anonymous caller reported a stolen vehicle was at 4000 block of Burr Oak Road, Lostcreek Twp. Supposedly, a resident had rented it, but fail to return it to Enterprise Rentals. The caller did not know the license plate.

The deputy responded to the residence and observed a white Hyundai from the road. The deputy spoke with the homeowner. He advised his grandson had rented it but did not return it on time due to a surgery. The deputy checked the registration and VIN using LEADS. The vehicle was not entered as stolen. Supposedly Enterprise Rental was responding for recovery. The homeowners were removing their grandson’s personal belongings prior to the recovery.

OVI SUSPENSION:Pursuant to a traffic stop for lights required after sunset, the driver was identified as Jesse Rogers and found to have an OVI suspension. Jesse provided the deputy with paperwork for limited driving privileges, but he was found to be driving beyond the scope of those privileges. Jesse was cited for required headlights and DUS. He and the vehicle were released to a valid driver

Aug. 26

DISTURBANCE: A deputy was dispatched to the 5000 block of West State Route 55, Union Twp. in reference to a possible disturbance. After further investigation it was found to be an underage party. All underage subjects were cited for underage consumption. One male subject attempted to hide in the woods. The male then tried to run away through the woods. After a short foot pursuit the male subject was arrested for obstructing and underage consumption
