Registration open for fall classes

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services has many activities for fall 2015. Registration begins on Sept. 14 and will continue throughout the term. Some classes beginning in the new few weeks are:

• Estate Planning for Young Couples – Sept. 22

• Two Step Dance Lessons – Sept. 22

• Dance Techniques & Footwork, Sept. 23

• Spinning – Sept. 28

• PiYo – Sept, 28

• Drum Circle – Sept. 22 (all ages)

Road closure announced

TIPP CITY — Beginning On Sept. 21, 2015, County Road 25A from State Route 571 to Curry Branch Drive will be closed for culvert replacement and utility reconstruction for the first phase of the County Road 25A Reconstruction Project.

County Road 25A from Curry Branch to 5335 N. County Rd 25A will be open to residents and local traffic only, no access to State Route 571 can be provided.

Evanston Road, Peters Road and State Route 571 will be posted as the detour route.

The City expects a three to four week construction schedule for phase one and then will proceed to phases two and three of the Reconstruction Project which will change traffic patterns and access.

Tipp City Public Library book sale

TIPP CITY — The Friends of the Tipp City Public Library is hosting a 1-day book sale Saturday, October 3, 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Senseman Meeting Room at the Library, 11 East Main Street. Children’s books, hardback and paperback books, tapes, CDs and DVDs. Come ready to stock up! Proceeds to benefit the Library.

Community Services holding coat drive

TIPP CITY — TMCS is collecting new and gently used coats, including coats for all ages but especially children’s sizes. In addition TMCS is taking hats, gloves, scarves, thermals and snow suits. Please make sure items are clean and ready to wear.

Drop off at TMCS until October 30. The office is located at 3 E. Main Street next to the library. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Coat Distribution is on Nov. 7 at the American Legion, #Post 586 located at the corner of Park and Third Street. If you or your family is in need of a winter coat, gloves, hats or scarves, hours of distribution are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Clothing drive set

WEST MILTON — The Senior Shepherds of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Milton, Ohio are sponsoring a Clothing Drive to benefit “The Clothesline” located at 22 N. Second Street, Tipp City, Ohio. “The Clothesline” is a non-profit organization providing new and gently used clothing, accessories and linens for the whole family at very reasonable prices and free of charge in emergency situations.

“God’s Work, Our Hands” projects similar to this will occur at Evangelical Lutheran Churches all over the United States to show love and support for our neighbors.

Start gathering gently used clothing (infant through adult ages), shoes and bed linens that you would like to donate. Please drop them off at the church at 1209 South Miami Street, West Milton, on Sunday, September 27 between 2 and 4 p.m. If you would like to drop off items before that date, please call the church office at 698-5826.

Artists sought for art show

WEST MILTON — Hoffman United Methodist Church is looking for applicants to take part in the ninth annual art show Oct. 2-4 in the activity center at 201 S. Main St., West Milton. The deadline for entering is September 14.

The purpose of the show is to share area talent with the public. The show is non-juried. Some pieces may be available for purchase, with transactions handled directly between the artist and the interested party.

A gift from local arts patron Bill Netzley of Netzley Roofing has enabled Hoffman to offer monetary awards again this year. Awards to be given are $500 for first place, $400 for second

place, and $300 for third place. Seven additional awards of $100 each will also be presented. This year there will be a youth category open to current high school students with two $50 awards presented in that category.

Application forms may be picked up at the church office, Really Cool Stuff and The Hen’s Nest in West Milton, and The Hotel Gallery in Tipp City. Forms are also available for downloading from the church website at HoffmanUMC.org.
