Retired officer supports Duchak

To the Editor:

When you go to the polls to vote on Nov. 8, please cast your vote for Chief Deputy Dave Duchak for Miami County Sheriff.

As a retired Piqua police officer and former president of the Miami County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 58 for 18 years, I have known Dave Duchak since he started his law enforcement career with the Covington Police Department in 1987. I have maintained my friendship with Dave throughout his career with the Miami County Sheriff’s Office. Dave possesses the qualities and experience necessary to be an exceptional sheriff. He has worked as a road deputy as well as a detective and has served as your chief deputy under Sheriff Cox for the past five years. He has proven himself as a leader and he will represent every citizen of Miami County and not just special interest groups.

Please take the time to research the qualifications and background of both candidates running for the office of sheriff. I think you will agree with me that Chief Deputy Duchak will stand out as the most qualified and the clear choice to lead your sheriff’s department into the future. Having been mentored by seven-term Sheriff Charles Cox, he is prepared to become your sheriff and continue to give the citizens of Miami County the same professional law enforcement they have received under Sheriff Cox.

The citizens of Miami County currently have an outstanding sheriff’s department with a dedicated staff from command, road patrol as well as detectives, corrections and support staff.

Please keep your sheriff’s department going in the right direction by supporting and voting for Chief Deputy David Duchak as your next Sheriff.
