Honor guard thanked for their service

To the Editor,

I would like to publicly thank the volunteer members of the Troy Veterans Honor Guard for their service to area veterans and their families.

With more area honor guards disbanding due to lack of available members, the Troy Veterans Honor Guard has admirably stepped into that void. The Troy group is made up of members from the American Legion Post No. 43, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5436 and AMVETS Post No. 88.

These men and women volunteer their time and effort to ensure that our area veterans are laid to rest with the same honor and reverence as past generations. The Troy Veterans Honor Guard is now asked to handle more funeral services in a larger geographical area. They take on this task without complaint or hesitation. Their only mission is to honor the deceased veteran.

On behalf of the families served by Hale-Sarver and Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Homes, thank you for your dedicated service to our veterans and their loved ones. Your efforts are most appreciated.
