Officials arrest Behm and Allen on various drug charges

MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County Sheriff’s Office announced several arrests made by the department this week.

On May 8, narcotics detectives conducted a narcotics operation at the Motel 6, 1260 S. Dorset Road, in Troy. The operation was the culmination of a month long investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine and heroin in Miami County. Searches of a vehicle and hotel room resulted in the seizure of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, packaging material used in the trafficking of narcotics, digital scales, numerous syringes, and U.S. currency.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may occur. Katie M. Allen, 23, of Troy, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin. Donald E. Behm, 31, of Piqua, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking heroin. Both were incarcerated without incident at the Miami County Jail.

In other news:

Jason C. Daiuto, 30, of Dayton was arrested by sheriff’s detectives for possessing weapons while under disability and discharge of a firearm on or near a prohibited premises. Daiuto was incarcerated in the Miami County jail without incident on May 9.

On May 7, 2017 at approximately 12:14 a.m., Miami County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a complaint of gunshots in the 100 block of Shoop Road, Monroe Township.

The caller reported seeing a person in a hooded sweatshirt running towards a sport utility vehicle parked in the lot and leaving the area at the time of the gunfire. Investigation of the scene located several spent ammunition casings. In addition, two vehicles in the 100 block of Shoop Road were found to have sustained damage from gunfire.
