Logo Lab planned
WEST MILTON — Tap into your inner superhero and design your own logo at the Milton-Union Public Library’s “Logo Lab” – the final teen event of the Summer Reading Program. Dawn Merritt is hosting the lab from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28.

Art adventure set
TIPP CITY — The third annual Children’s Art Adventure will be held on Saturday, August 1st, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Church on the corner of Broadway and Third in Tipp City.
More than 25 artists and community members will once again sponsor booths for children from ages 3 to 14 featuring artistic and STEAM related projects. Some of the art stations will include thaumatropes from DAI, faux reduction linoleum printing from Studio 14, food art with Amorette Dye, and a Mystery Bag Challenge.
Facepainting, Zumba, and other activities will also be offered in the cost of entry. Kid friendly food provided by Crossroads Church will be available for purchase.
Access to ALL booths is available through the purchase of an Art Adventure wristband which is available for purchase for $5 presale at Tipp Monroe Community Services (3 E. Main St., Tipp City) or at the Tipp Arts Council booth on Saturdays through July 25 at the Tipp Marketplace (on 3rd and Main, Tipp City). They will also be available on the day of the event at the information gate for $7. ALL children must be accompanied by an adult.

Ice cream social planned
LAURA — Laura Christian Church invites everyone to its Ice Cream Social on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 4-7pm. The church is located at 1 South Main Street in Laura.
There will be six popular flavors of fresh homemade ice cream — vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, peanut butter, lemon and pineapple — as well as sloppy joes, hot dogs, Coney dogs, pies and cakes, lemonade and coffee. Eat in or carry out. Bring a friend and enjoy a great meal at very reasonable prices. All proceeds benefit the Laura Christian Deacons’ Fund, to assist local persons/families in need.
Doggie Paddle Days set
TIPP CITY — Adventures on the Great Miami is excited to partner with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton to turn its property at 1995 Ross Road, Tipp City, into a 20-acre play land for dogs on select nights!
Doggie Paddle Days will allow your furry friends to swim in the river, play off-leash in designated areas, go for a hike and test out a canoe on the Great Miami River. Mix in dog-related vendors and Adventures on the Great Miami will be the gathering spot for dogs and their human friends. For the adventurous spirits, there will be a downhill slip ‘n’ slide, rope swing and slackline park.
Mark your calendars for Doggie Paddle Days — Aug. 3 and 24; Sept; 1 and 21; and Oct. 6.
The $8 admission fee per dog will provide access to canoes, kayaks, tubes for use on section of river near property and all facility amenities. A percentage of the admission will benefit the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
Please review park rules before attending to assure all have a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience: • All dogs and their owners must register upon arrival. • Adventures on the Great Miami personnel reserve the right to remove any dog or human that jeopardizes the safety of other dogs or visitors. • Dogs may be OFF leash in designated areas and while swimming in the river. • Dogs must have required local immunizations • Owners are responsible to clean up any doggy droppings. • Owners must be with dogs at all times • Owners are encouraged to have their dogs spayed or neutered.

Vacation bible school set
LUDLOW FALLS — Grace Baptist Church in Ludlow Falls will host Vacation Bible School from Aug. 3-7. The theme this year is “To the Edge – Encounter the God of the Universe.” Classes will run Monday through Friday from 6-8:30 p.m. each evening. Ages 4 years old through sixth grade are welcome.

TIPP CITY — The Miami County Park District will hold an Adult Exploration Hike at 9 a.m. on August 4 at Charleston Falls Preserve, 2535 Ross Rd. south of Tipp City. Join Park District Naturalist Sassafras Susan as she heads out to explore nature. Walks are not strenuous or fast-paced and usually last around two hours. Music in the Parks

Participants are invited to listen to the sound of music and nature. Bring a blanket to sit on and a snack to eat. ART for ALL accepting entries
TIPP CITY — It’s not too late to get your creative juices flowing and submit your 6-by-6 creation for the Tipp City Area Arts Council’s “ART for ALL” event, which will be held on Aug. 22 at Sudgen’s in Tipp City.
All submissions of original art — including children’s art, amateur, and professional art — will be accepted until July 27 at Tipp Monroe Community Services on 3 E. Main St., Tipp City, for this event. Not only will you get the chance to feature and promote your art, our guests will have the opportunity to purchase art at affordable prices, and all proceeds will go to TCAAC to provide essential financial support for their numerous community projects such as the Canal Music Festival and Children’s Art Adventure.
There is no entry fee for submission and three People’s Choice Awards will be presented at the reception.

School supplies needed
TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is collecting school supplies for fall 2015. Any and all supplies are needed but especially: dry erase markers, scissors, pencil sharpeners, colored pencils, boxes of tissues, highlighters, paper towels, cleaning wipes, zipper pouches, four function calculators, composition books, flash drives, and scientific calculators.
Please drop off items at the TMCS office at 3 E. Main St., Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. no later than Aug. 10. Supplies will be distributed at the Lunch on Us program and will be available for pick up at our office after that date.
