Day of Prayer services scheduled

TIPP CITY — The Tipp City National Day of Prayer service will be held at noon on Thursday, May 5. It will be held in the parking lot of Tipp City United Methodist Church at the corner of Third and Main Streets. The service will last about 45 minutes.

Prayers will be offered by laity and clergy, and there will be participation from those who gather for the service. Topics include religious freedom, family, schools and education, elections, government, and world events. The theme for this year’s gathering is “Wake up, America.”

Community wide garage sale set

TIPP CITY — Are your closets exploding and your garage so full you can’t get your car in? The Community Wide Garage Sale is coming Saturday, May 7, 2016. Tipp Monroe Community Services sponsors this annual event. Cost to be listed on the map/flyer is $10, for an additional $5 you may list any special items you have on a 1 inch by 2 and 5/8 inch space (business card size). You will also receive pre-printed corex sign for your yard.

Remember the old adage – “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Come to the TMCS office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to register. Registration deadline is April 25.

Library to host book sale

TIPP CITY — The Friends of the Tipp City Public Library is hosting their spring book sale from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, in the Senseman Meeting Room at the Library, 11 East Main Street, Tipp City.

Children’s books, hard back and paper books, tapes, CDs, and DVDs will be featured. Get a sneak preview at members’ night, available to Friends only, on Friday, May 13 from 1-6 p.m. Become a member that day. Come ready to stock up! Proceeds to benefit the library.
