Pet memorials available

TIPP CITY — The City of Tipp City is currently accepting orders for pet memorial stones. These paver bricks will be installed in the Kyle Park Dog Park, but aren’t just for dogs. Stones can be purchased for cats, fish, snakes, rabbits, hamsters, or any other beloved pet.

The tan bricks are 6-by-6 inches and are available for $20.00 per paver. Bricks may contain up to three lines of print, 20 characters per line, including spaces.

Taxation relaxation offered

TIPP CITY — Need some fun? Try coloring at a “No Taxation Without Relaxation” coloring party. The party will be on April 15 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Rusty Harden’s Studio. Rusty will supply coloring pages, crayons, pens and plenty of ideas. Refreshments will be served. You can bring something to share and adult beverages are allowed.

Library to welcome new director

TIPP CITY — The Board of Trustees of the Tipp City Public Library will host a welcome reception for the new director, Lisa Santucci, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the library on Thursday, April 21. Ms. Santucci is a Tipp City resident and comes to the library after serving more than 20 years in the Miami University Library system in Oxford, Ohio. The public is invited.

Senior Spring Fling features handbell artist

WEST MILTON — All senior citizens in Union Township are invited to a “Senior Spring Fling” at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26. The Senior Shepherds of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will host the event.

David Pinkerton, a solo handbell artist will be the featured entertainment. His programs are a mixture of golden oldies and sing-a-longs, the classical and the humorous, interesting bell lore stories, and his famous bell tossing.

Community wide garage sale

TIPP CITY — Are your closets exploding and your garage so full you can’t get your car in? The Community Wide Garage Sale is coming Saturday, May 7, 2016. Tipp Monroe Community Services sponsors this annual event. Cost to be listed on the map/flyer is $10.00, for an additional $5.00 you may list any special items you have on a 1” x 2 5/8” space (business card size). You will also receive pre-printed corex sign for your yard. Remember the old adage – “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. Come to the TMCS office Mon.-Fri., 8 am – 5 pm to register. Registration deadline is April 25.

Teacher of the Year nominations accepted

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe Educational Endowment is accepting nominations for its 2016 Teacher of the Year Award through April 15, 2016. Parents, teachers, colleagues and students are encouraged to nominate a full-time teacher who they believe is deserving of this recognition. The award is intended to recognize a significant achievement by a teacher as well as individual efforts spanning the life of a career.

Factors that are considered include: traits that compel others to view him or her as a role model, dedication both within and outside of the classroom, leadership or accomplishments that distinguish him or her among peers.
