BETHEL TOWNSHIP — The two newest members of the Bethel Local Schools Board of Education extended their thanks to the community.

Lori Sebastian thanked the voters for their support, saying that she is looking forward to working with the rest of the board, as well the teachers and administration. She captured about 63 percent of the vote, receiving 1,540 total votes.

“We had a great pool of talent for voters to choose from, and I’m looking forward to what we can accomplish together,” Sebastian said.

“I’d like to thank the community for trusting me with their kids, because that’s the most important thing,” newly elected board member Todd Wright said. Wright decided to run as a write-in because he saw an opportunity after the election petitions of two current board members were nullified by the Board of Elections.

Wright said he is looking forward to getting to know his fellow board members. He received 361 votes, or about 15 percent.

“Just like when you start a new job, you have to get the lay of the land first and see how all the different personalities work together,” he said.

Gregory Brueckman and Jacob King also ran as write-in candidates.
