Meet Santa at the Library

WEST MILTON — The public is invited to attend the annual Community Holiday Night at the Milton-Union Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 8.

The theme this year is “12 Days of Christmas: Library Edition.” Santa and Mrs. Claus will be passing out presents for the children. The Friends of the Milton-Union Public Library will be taking photos for those without their own cameras and providing Christmas cookies in the multi-purpose room. There will be holiday music and decorations throughout the library, crafts, and prizes for every age group as well.

Holiday items for sale at museum

TIPP CITY — This year the Tippecanoe Historical Society Museum will have regular hours through November and part of December. That means Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon through Dec. 17.

Keep in mind that we have a number of fun and interesting Tipp City related items for sale that would make great Christmas gifts or stocking stuffers. The “Tipp City, Ohio — My Hometown” sweatshirts and t-shirts are a new item. Most of these items are also available at the Community Services Office during business hours, including both of Susan Furlong’s Tipp history books.

Library to host Christmas concert

TIPP CITY — Experience the Christmas holiday through music at the Tipp City Public Library on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 1-3:30 pm.

1 p.m. — Bethel High School Choir

2 p.m. — Bethel High School Jazz Sextet

3 p.m. — Tippecanoe High School Instrumental group

Library to host teen holiday party

WEST MILTON — A Teen Holiday Party at the Milton-Union Public Library is set for Saturday, Dec. 10, from 1-3 p.m.

The monthly meetings of the Teen Anime Club and the Wii Party will combine for a holiday party. The library will host teens to come and enjoy snacks, Wii games on the big screen, Minecraft on laptops, and more. Attendees 18 and under with parent’s permission are welcome to join.

Blood drive set

TIPP CITY — Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City will host a blood drive Saturday, Dec. 10 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in the South Campus Chapel, 7695 County Road 25-A. Community Blood Center is thanking donors for being “a force for good” with the “Rogue Blood Donor – A Story of Hope” Star Wars inspired t-shirt, free to everyone who registers to donate. YMCA offers Santa and Me Preschool

TROY — The Miami County YMCA Robinson Branch is offering a fun morning of gym games and a visit from Santa on Dec. 15 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Participants will start out at 9:30 a.m. with a bounce house, gymnastics, and sports and Santa will arrive around 10 a.m.

This program is for 2-5 year olds and is free for members and $5 for nonmembers. Pre-registration is encouraged at the Robinson Branch or over the phone at 440-9622.

Hear “The Sounds of Christmas”

WEST MILTON — Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, West Milton, Ohio will present their annual concert “The Sounds of Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m.

Directed by Marsha Fischbach and accompanied by Betty Lou Johansen, the Good Shepherd Christmas Choir and Shepherd’s Bells will present many songs of the season. This year’s concert will again feature the quartet “Salem.” The quartet, composed of four members from the Salem Church of God in Clayton, Ohio (Dan Garner, lead; Dyan Garner, tenor; Dave Mittlestaedt, baritone; and Herb Peer, bass), was organized in July 2014. Their growing repertoire consists mainly of southern gospel music.

Winter party of animals set

TROY — Join staff and volunteers at Brukner Nature Center for the annual Winter Party for the Wildlife on Saturday, Dec. 17.

From 6-7 p.m., enjoy refreshments, games, make a treat for your wild friends and visit with our wildlife ambassador’s. From 7-8 p.m., enjoy a nocturnal adventure along BNC’s trails. Admission is a gift from the center’s wish list just for the ambassadors.

Check out the wish list on the Wishes for Wildlife tree located at the entrance of the Critter Corner for some gift ideas. The 50-plus wildlife ambassadors worked hard this year to educate thousands of people, so join participants as they celebrate the season with BNC’s wildlife friends.

McClure graduates basic training

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — U.S. Air Force Airman Brianna L. McClure graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

McClure is the daughter of Courtney D. Belpuliti of Glassport, Pa., and Robert L. McClure of Tipp; step daughter of Amanda McClure of Tipp; and Lamont A. Belpuliti of Glassport, Pa.; and sister of Robert K. and Layne K. McClure of Tipp.

She is a 2016 graduate of South Allegheny High School, Mckeesport, Pa.
