TIPP CITY — At their meeting Monday night, the Tipp City Board of Education approved modifications to the Tipp City Education Association master agreement regarding hours and wages for school psychologists.

The board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Tipp City Education Association increasing the work week for school psychologists from 37.5 hours to 42.5. In addition to the increase in hours, salaries will also increase by 13.3 percent.

The board accepted the resignation of school psychologist, Erin Wright. The increase in hours is partly due to the fact that the district will be down to one psychologist from two. The district is seeking to fill that position.

The board also voted to approve Superintendent Gretta Kumpf’s salary for 2016-2017 school year.

Kumpf will receive an increase of 4.75 percent in salary, raising the contract amount to $122,610 from $117,050. This change in salary is retroactive to July 1.

Board member Theresa Dunaway voted no.

In other business, the board approved a number of grants from the Steam Boosters, $305; the Tipp Foundation, $6,486; and the Miami County Foundation, $7,366.

During citizen comments, Tipp Pride Association President Mashell Stith provided the board with an update on the group and asked the board to appoint a district liaison to attend their meetings. Tipp Pride Association is also asking the city to appoint a representative.

“These two members on our board are non-voting members of the board, but on the board nonetheless because we are a team in achieving this,” Stith said.

The Tipp Pride Association is a group of residents planning to assist the district in securing donations to offset the cost of construction of a new stadium.

The group will hold a fundraising kick-off Nov. 19, with details to be released soon.
