TIPP CITY — A Troy man is in custody after allegedly stealing skateboards from two 12-year-olds in Tipp City Park on Thursday afternoon.

Jason Adams, 21, has been charged with two counts of assault, two counts of theft and one count of disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

According to police reports, Adams was “highly intoxicated” and admitted to drinking after losing his job. He added that he needed transportation back to Troy, the report states.

One of the juvenile victims told police that he and his two friends were in the park when Adams threw him on the ground and took his skateboard as well as his friend’s. Another victim, whose hand was in a cast from a previous injury, claimed Adams put him in a choke hold, but did not take his skateboard.

Adams told officers that he returned the skateboards as soon as he knew the police were called.

Adams remains in custody in the Miami County Jail. He is being held on a $6,000 bond.
