TMCS classes benefit health

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services has announced new classes to benefit your health.

Do you wonder why your neck or shoulders hurt or why you have headaches after using the computer? Is your waistline increasing even though you exercise? Register for this Body Awareness Seminar and let Gregor Mackenzie, physical therapist and owner of Xcel Sports Medicine, and Celeste Mackenzie, Pilates and movement therapist and owner of Peak Personal Pilates give you some answers to your questions. The workshop is on Sept. 21 from 7-8 p.m.

Need to stretch? Join this Ladies’ 55+ Stretch Class and gain flexibility and balance. This class taught by Patrice Link begins on Sept. 20 from 9-10 a.m. will also be great for your posture and tones the body.

Pilates is coming back to Tipp City. MacKenzie will teach students the principles of pilates and techniques to feel more comfortable, more flexible and stronger. Class begins on Sept. 28 from 9-10 a.m.

Yoga does more than burn calories, it also tones muscles and builds strength. Classes will be offered by The Healing Garden. Beginner classes start on Oct. 6 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and Intermediate Classes start on Oct. 3 from 6-7 p.m.

For children, Tipp Monroe Community Services has new classes just for you.

Beginning Ballet, ages 7-11 — Students will learn the fundamental principles of ballet. The curriculum includes steps such as balances, jetes and pirouette movement. Class begins Sept. 12 from 6:30-7 p.m.

Tumbling for 4 year olds — Turn your active 4 year old’s constant movement and experimental gymnastics into a tumbling activity. These activities are great for developing large motor skills, coordination, strength and balance. Instructor Patrice Link will begin classes on Sept. 20 from 10:30-11 a.m.
