MONROE TOWNSHIP — The Monroe Township Trustees met with Miami County Prosecutor Anthony E. Kendell, Assistant Prosecutor Chris Englert, and representatives from Tipp City Seniors Inc. during both the board’s regular meeting and an executive session on Jan. 19 to discuss the next steps required to move forward in the architectural and building project bidding process for the new Tipp City Seniors Center. In the very near future, the trustees also will be working up a written packet to present the senior citizens group that will assist with how the building process is to be followed per the Ohio Revised Code.
A reminder to township subdivision residents was noted at the board meeting that the township has a resolution against parking commercial and recreational vehicles on subdivision streets. It is especially important to abide by this regulation during the winter season because these types of vehicles make it very difficult to snow plow the township subdivision streets. Violations of commercial parked vehicles on subdivision streets can be reported to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
The township trustees and fiscal officer will be attending the 2016 Ohio Township Association Winter Conference in Columbus January 27-29.
Bills paid at the board meeting totaled $29,208.47.
The next trustees meeting is set for 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1 in the township meeting room, 6 E. Main St., Tipp City.
