MONROE TOWNSHIP — Monroe Township Trustees passed a resolution at the Dec. 7 meeting as recommended by the Miami County Prosecutor’s Office to include use of indemnification agreements for all contractors working for the township and users of township facilities.
This would include use of township equipment during a combined agency activity; contractors hired for paving of township roads, painting on township properties, and township side-ditch mowing; and rental use of township meeting rooms and facilities by groups or individuals. The board also assigned the township secretary to act as the signature representative for the township board when rentals of the meeting rooms and facilities take place.
Other resolutions approved by the trustees include payment of bills totaling $111,203.76, and acceptance of the financial status report ending November 2015 and the bank reconciliation report of Oct. 31.
Monroe Township is still seeking an individual residing in the unincorporated section of the township to voluntarily serve on the Tipp Monroe Cable Access Commission for a three-year term that begins Jan. 1, 2016. A letter of interest may be mailed or hand-delivered to the Monroe Township Office, 4 E. Main St., Tipp City.
Township offices and facilities will be closed December 25 and January 1, in observance of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, respectively. The board will hold its next regular meeting 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, and its end of the year meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 9 a.m.
