Trustees approve annexation agreement

MONROE TOWNSHIP — Monroe Township Trustees approved a resolution at their Nov. 6 meeting to enter into an annexation agreement with the city of Tipp City regarding approximately 1.2109 acres on South County Road 25-A.

Arbogast, the owner of 3452 S. County Road 25-A, has expressed interest to annex this acreage tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the city of Tipp City; and after a study by Monroe Township and Tipp City, agreed to this proposal as “beneficial use of territory and developed mutual understandings suitable for this formal agreement.“

In other resolutions, the board paid bills totaling $172,860.69, and accepted the financial status reports ending October 2017 and the bank reconciliation of Sept. 30, 2017, as presented by the township fiscal officer.

It was noted the next Monroe Township Water and Sewer District meeting open to the public will be Monday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. This meeting is held in the township meeting room, 6 E. Main St. in Tipp City. Another local gathering is the Tipp City Senior Citizens business meeting 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 at 320 S. First St., Tipp City.

The Monroe Township Trustees will meet next on Monday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Township’s meeting room. And as a reminder, the township offices will be closed Thanksgiving Day.
