Health inspections

June 19

Meijer Distribution, 4200 S. County Road 25-A, Tipp City — At the time of inspection, both reach-in coolers and the reach-in freezer doors locked upon losing power. Also, the coolers, freezer and coffee maker were observed clean.

Subway, 695 S. Miami St., West Milton — Repeat observation: observed employee drinks in non-designated area in walk-in cooler, corrected during inspection. Facility did not have one employee with supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control food preparation and service with level two certification in food protection. Critical violation: person-in-charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health. Repeat observation: the surfaces of cutting blocks or boards were severely scratched or scored and could not be effectively cleaned and sanitized. Person-in-charge stated that new cutting boards are currently on order. Observed residual build-up on the handles of the equipment. Observed no hand washing sign(s) posted at hand washing sink(s) used by employees, both in the men’s bathroom and the hand washing sink right behind register.

Taco Bell, 1420 W. Main St., Troy — Repeat observation: observed food residual on handles of equipment. Observed no hand washing sign in men’s restroom. Repeat observation: observed grease build up on floor between fryers.

June 23

Arbogast Buick Pontiac GMC, 3504 S. County Road 25-A — Observed smaller cutting boards that were heavily scratched, corrected during inspection. Observed no towels or hand drying device at the hand washing sinks.

Dominos Pizza, 937 W. Main St., Troy — Critical violation: person-in-charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report their health information. Observed no hand washing sin in the women’s restroom. Observed leak on three-compartment sink faucet.

Lincoln Square V, 1320 Archer Drive, Troy — Observed dented cans in back storage area, corrected during inspection. Critical violation: observed eggs being stored above packaged bacon, corrected during inspection. Critical violation: observed black mold residual above ice on ice box behind bar, corrected during inspection.

Marathon, 801 W. Main St., Troy — Critical violation: person-in-charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health. There is no test kit available for measuring the concentration of the sanitizer. Repeat observation: equipment food-contact surfaces and utensils were not being sanitized. Was told that soda nozzles were only being cleaned with soap. They must be sanitized often with quat or bleach solutions. Repeat observation: observed no towels or hand drying device at the hand washing sink in back office. Observed no hand washing sign in the bathroom or above hand sink in back office area.
