Health inspections

June 5

Homestead Golf Course Pop House, 5327 Worley Road, Tipp City — Critical, repeat violation: observed an open package of hot-dogs held refrigerated for more than 24 hours that were not properly date marked. Observed handle to hot holding drawer with a sticky residual. Repeat observation: observed a build-up of dust, cobwebs, and debris in all corners of the facility, and on cooking equipment.

Homestead Golf Course, 5327 Worley Road, Tipp City — Repeat observation: observed coffee stir sticks sitting in a cup for customers. Single-service and single-use articles are not properly stored.

Submarine House Bar & Grill, 14 N. Market St., Troy — The surfaces of cutting blocks or boards were severely scratched upon observation. Critical violation: observed mold inside of ice machine bin, corrected during inspection. Observed hole in the wall beside grill vent hood. Critical violation: observed working containers of poisonous or toxic chemicals that were not properly labeled with the name of the material, corrected during inspection.

June 6

Big Mike’s Gas N Go, 1333 Archer Drive, Troy — Critical violation: observed mold residual on both sides of the ice door connected to ice machine in drink dispenser. Observed packaged utensils stored underneath drink machine and drainage lines, corrected during inspection. Observed no supply of hand cleaning liquid at the hand washing sink in back area near three compartment sink. Observed no towels by the hand washing sink in the back area beside three compartment sink.

StoryPoint Of Troy, 1840 Towne Park Drive, Troy —No violations upon inspection. An Ohio Department of Health inspection was conducted on June 5, 2017. License will be coming to the facility. No food will be stored in the kitchen until license is received.

June 7

Indian Hills 4-H Camp, 8212 W. Lauver Road, Pleasant Hill — On the first cooler, the door gaskets were observed in disrepair. At the time of inspection, the sanitizing pressure of the hot water sanitizing warewashing machine was observed below the required 5 pounds per square inch. At the time of inspection, the hot water sanitizing warewashing machine final rinse cycle was not reaching 180 F while the test strips indicated proper final rinse temperature. Ensure the plywood in the the storage room and the two-by-fours along the hot holding units are sealed.

Tony’s Bada Bing, 132 E. Main St., Tipp City — Repeat observation: there is no test kit available for measuring the concentration of the sanitizer. Critical violation: observed ice machine to have a dark residual build-up on interior plastic piece, corrected during inspection.

June 8

Jimmy John’s, 1888 W. Main St., Troy — Cold holding unit with TCS foods did not have a thermometer inside. Observed ice accumulation build-up on the freezer fan in walk-in freezer.

Maruti Gasoline, 1314 N. Main St., Troy — Critical violation: person-in-charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health. Observed kick plates on drink coolers coming apart from bottom of unit. Repeat observation: observed coffee stirrers and straws being stored without proper protection against contamination. Critical, repeat violation: the hand washing is behind ice cream freezer and is not easy to get to. Repeat observation: observed no towels or hand drying device at the hand washing sink by three-compartment sink. Facility stated that they are re-arranging their facility where the hand sink and three-compartment sink are located.

Tipp City Beverage Dock, 1372 S. County Road 25-A, Troy — Critical violation. Observation: Person in charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health.

YWCA, 418 N. Wayne St., Piqua — The dishwasher was not reaching 180 degrees during sanitize cycle. Must reach 180 degrees to effectively sanitize. Use Quaternary ammonia to sanitize.

Premier Senior Housing, 316 N. College St., Piqua — Satisfactory at time of inspection.

Sunrise Center for Adults, 316 N. College St., Suite 001, Piqua — The cabinets interior and exterior need to be cleaned. Observed signs of mice. Secure all food in rodent proof containers and take steps to remove mice.
