INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Sam Lines, engineering manager for Concrete Sealants in Tipp City, was presented with the National Precast Concrete Association’s Douglas G. Hoskin award on Oct. 1. The Hoskin Award, named for one of NPCA’s founders, was presented to Lines at the association’s 51st annual convention in Austin, Texas, to honor his dedication to recruiting new members to the association.
Concrete Sealants has been a member of NPCA since 1971 and Lines has been active with the association for many years. During his time with the association, he has been a strong advocate of the benefits of membership and education and has not shied away from sharing that with his peers in the industry. His efforts have resulted in 14 new members in a 12-month period, which earned him the Hoskin Award. Overall, he has sponsored 23 new members.
Lines spent 15 years with a large precast plant, leading them through ISO 9001 and NPCA Plant Certification prior to joining Concrete Sealants. In his current position, he consults with precasters in the areas of manufacturing, quality and safety.
“Sam is a true believer in NPCA and what this association stands for,” said NPCA President Ty Gable. “Whether it be leading an education course, serving on committees, or speaking with fellow precasters about what NPCA has to offer, he always makes time to give back. This award is well deserved as his efforts have made the industry and the association stronger.”
