Health inspections

Sept. 7

Rudy’s Dairy Bar, 1125 S. Miami St., West Milton — At time of inspection, a permit had not been pulled and no inspection had been conducted by a certified plumbing inspector. The following violation have been corrected since the last inspection: hand sink water temperature below 100°F, non-operational water heater.

Koester Pavilion, 3232 N. County Road 25-A, Troy — No violations were documented at the time of inspection.

JJ’s Lunchbox, 7031 S. County Road 25-A, Tipp City — No violations were documented at the time of inspection.

Sept. 8

Broadway Elementary School, 223 W. Broadway St., Tipp City — No violations were documented at the time of inspection.

Skyline Chili, 1775 W. Main St., Troy — Observed cutting board on prep cooler that has deep scratches in the material, as well as some staining. Critical: observed trash and carts being stored in front of both hand washing sinks in back food prep area, corrected during inspection. Critical: observed ice in the handwashing sink where employees were dumping drinks. Observed no hand washing signage above the hand washing sink in back food prep area. Repeat: observed a build-up of old grease and debris underneath fryer station.

Rich Oil, 120 N. Miami St., Bradford — Critical: person-in-charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health. Critical: open refrigerated roller grill foods were not properly date marked in walk-in cooler. No ingredient labels present for hot dog buns that are in clear individual packages.

Sept. 11

Kroger, 731 Market St. W., Troy — No violations were documented at the time of inspection.

Ruby Tuesday, 1780 W. Main St., Troy — Critical: observed old food residual on the top plate inside of microwaves near grill line. Observed that the majority of handles on all of the equipment in food prep area were sticky and had residual build up on them. Critical: observed ice inside of the hand washing sink in bar area. Observed grease accumulation and debris build up underneath grease storage unit in receptacle area. Observed a build-up of food residual and debris in hard to reach areas underneath food equipment in food prep area.

Hobart Arena Main Kitchen, 255 Adams St., Troy — No violations were documented at the time of inspection.

Troy Junior High School, 556 N. Adams St., Troy — Observed debris under shelving units in dry storage area.

Sept. 12

Big Mike’s Gas N Go, 8561 State Route 201, Tipp City — Repeat: observed no ingredient list for donuts in customer self-serve display case. Person-in-charge stated that she is in the process of getting the ingredient list. Observed that dispenser of hand soap beside hand washing sink in food prep area was empty. Person-in-charge stated that they are changing dispensers and that they were waiting for the dispenser to come in. Observed hole in wall behind CO2 tank in the corner of the food prep area.

Tipp City High School, 615 E. Kessler Cowlesville Road, Tipp City — No violations were documented at the time of inspection.

Wendy’s, 1300 Archer Drive, Troy — Observed plastic cups being stored inside of RTE foods (chopped onions and shredded cheese). Critical: observed that vegetables and sauces being used in food prep are not properly time marked for four hours. Observed leak on the condensing unit inside of reach-in cooler underneath vegetable and sauce bar where covered salads are being stored. Critical: observed dark residual build-up on the nozzle of the drink machine by front drive-thru window. Critical: observed dark residual on the top part inside of ice machine in food prep area. Critical: observed dark residual build-up on the inside of ice shoot on the drink machine out in customer sitting area. Observed loose trash build-up beside and underneath the garbage container unit outside. Observed no hand washing sign by the hand washing sink in the front of food prep area. Observed cracked tile in the back of food prep area in front of walk-in cooler.

Sept. 13

Wendy’s, 1300 Archer Drive, Troy — The following violation(s) have been corrected since the last inspection: dark residual build-up on the nozzle of the drink machine by front drive-thru window, dark residual on the top part inside of ice machine in food prep area, dark residual build-up on the inside of ice shoot on the drink machine out in customer sitting area. Repeat: observed leak on the condensing unit inside of reach-in cooler underneath vegetable and sauce bar where covered salads are being stored. Repeat: observed loose trash build-up beside and underneath the garbage container unit outside. Repeat: observed no hand washing sign by the hand washing sink in the front of food prep area. Repeat: observed cracked tile in the back of food prep area in front of walk-in cooler.

Sept. 11

B-K Root Beer Stand, 1407 South St., Piqua — The floor in the store room and the ceiling in the kitchen need to be cleaned.

Sept. 12

Red Lobster, 991 E. Ash St., Piqua — Observed bulk container in store room without label. All foods that are not unmistakable must be labeled to prevent misuse. Marinara sauce held at 122°F, corrected during inspection. Must keep at TCS foods above 135°F to prevent bacterial growth. Observed clear food containers that needed a more thorough cleaning. There are lights out in kitchen. There is a loose drain pipe on holding unit by grill.
