Health inspections

Aug. 1

Taco Bell, 1420 W. Main St., Troy — Observed accumulation of food residual on the top of the grillers by the cold holding units. Observed leak on faucet above prep sink toward back of the kitchen.

Aug. 3

Dolphin Club of Troy, 2326 State Route 718, Troy — Repeat observation: the chest freezers in the back storage area were observed to be non-commercial. Repeat observation: the reach-in ice cream cooler had duct tape for hinges. The multi-use cooking and serving utensil sorter in the drawer beneath the hot dog cooker was observed to have food and dirt debris build-up.

Genesis Healthcare,512 Crescent Drive, Troy — The floor under the dishwasher is not clean and the cove tiled base is missing with a space between the floor and the wall, causing a standing water and cleaning issue. Observed dark sticky residue on the floor throughout the kitchen. Critical violation: observed the presence of gnats in the kitchen, a large amount in dishwasher area.

Troy Aquatic Park, 460 Staunton Road, Troy — Ice build-up was observed around the door frame and compressor/fan units in the reach-in freezer.

Troy Country Club Snack Bar, 1830 Peters Road — The air conditioner above the shelf was leaking water. The single-serve spoons were stored in cups with the food contact surfaces facing up. The hand sink plumbing was leaking water.

Aug. 4

McDonald’s, 1560 W. Main St., Troy — Non-food contact surfaces of equipment are dirty. Observed food residual on the plate of the shake machine near the registers. Observed a leak on the faucet of the hand washing sink in food prep area toward the back. Observed no hand washing sign posted in the men’s restroom.

Tippecanoe Family Aquatic Center, 225 Parkwood Drive, Tipp City — The Good Humor ice cream machine had duct tape around the handles. The hand washing sink adjacent to the microwave was leaking. The window on the east side of the concession stand was observed in disrepair.

Aug. 10

Winans Chocolates and Coffees, 310 Spring St., Piqua — Items stored in front of hand sink. Do not put things in front of hand sink so hands can be easily washed.

Aug. 3

Piqua City Pool, Pitsenbarger Park, Piqua — Provide paper towels at the hand sink so hands can be washed as needed.

Aug. 9

Rally’s, 118 N. College St., Piqua — Carmel and chocolate toppings marked “Keep Refrigerated” kept on counter at room temperature. If marked “Keep Refrigerated,” must be kept below 41 degrees or above 135 degrees to prevent bacterial growth. Items discarded.

Aug. 7

Subway, 1575 Covington Ave., Piqua — Observed food temperatures on prep line above 41 degrees – roast beef, 46 degrees; tuna salad, 46 degrees; chicken, 46 degrees. Keep all TCS foods below 41 degrees at all times to prevent bacterial growth. The cold line was inadvertently turned off. Turned back on. Watch closely. Provide thermometer for two door refrigerator so temperature can be monitored. The bread oven was leaking water and the two-door refrigerator was leaking water. Repair. The slicer and the container holding clean lids needs cleaning.
