American Legion awards scholarships

TIPP CITY —

The Tipp City American Legion Post #586 presented $500.00 scholarships to four area students on Tuesday June 27, 2017.

Kendra Beckman sponsored by her grandfather Kenny Adkins was awarded a $500.00 scholarship to Wright State University. Kendra will be starting her senior year of college at Wright State having been on the Honor Roll and Deans List her first three years. She will continue pursuing her degree in Social Science Education.

Zachary Burleson sponsored by his grandfather Don Williams was awarded a $500.00 scholarship to Wright State University. Zachary is continuing his education as a sophomore this year. He is pursuing a career in scientific cellular research.

Kayla Mullen sponsored by her grandfather Francis March was awarded a $500.00 scholarship to Wright State University. Kayla is pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training and plans to continue on for a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Isaiah Purves sponsored by his grandfather Harlan Purves was awarded a $500.00 scholarship to Ball State University in Indiana. He is majoring in Environmental Management, a field that he feels will allow him to have a significant impact in the future. Helping farmers to increase crop yields and improve soil conservation.
