MIAMI COUNTY — At their meeting Tuesday, the Miami County Commissioners approved several contracts and agreements.
The commissioners authorized a design services contract with Garmann-Miller & Associates for upgrades and repairs to heating systems at West Central Juvenile Rehabilitation Center at a cost of $53,800.
The project will concern the replacement of temperature controls and the repair or replacement hot water coils on existing equipment, as well as the replacement of water heaters in the facility.
The commissioners also signed an agreement with Tom’s Construction for a storm sewer improvement project for the Village of Potsdam in the amount of $213,921.
The board also signed an agreement accepting a grant with the Miami County Family and Children First Council and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities for early intervention services.
The total grant amount is $243,859. Beth Adkins, program coordinator for the Miami County Family and Children First Council, said the award is nearly $40,000 more than last year’s.
The commissioners approved the purchase of six data recorder wands for West Central Juvenile Rehabilitation Center from Morse Watchmans at a $9,010. The new wands will replace the equipment currently in use at West Central.
The Safety Building lobby directory will be upgraded with a new electronically controlled directory sign. The commissioners accepted a quote from Western Ohio Graphics for $2,649 for the work. The existing sign cabinet will be removed.
The board also signed a contract with Stericycle for the pick-up and proper disposal of sharps needles. The previous company, Accu-Medical, was acquired by Stericycle, which has agreed to honor the current pricing.
Rates will continue to be set at $25 per 15-gallon container or 30-gallon container, with a total cost not to exceed $500, for 2017.
