July 22

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Several reports were made in the village of Casstown that sometime overnight someone had thrown eggs at vehicles.

July 23

OVI: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for a moving violation at Grant Street and McKaig Avenue, Troy. The deputy made contact with the driver who was identified as the defendant Ethan M McGuire. After further investigation, Mr. McGuire was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody for OVI.

TREE DAMAGES CAR: A subject was down at the river swimming near the Penny Road bridge in Newton Township. Her car was parked in the gravel pull off west of the bridge. A large tree limb broke free of a tree landing on her vehicle and causing considerable damage. The county garage was contacted to make removal of the tree, Randy’s towing removed the vehicle.

July 20

THEFT: A deputy responded to the 2900 block of North Montgomery County Line Road, Tipp City, in reference to a theft of jewelry from the residence.

July 19

BACKSTOP ISSUES: A reporting party stated a subject in the 4400 block of Casstown Clark Road, Lostcreek Township, was shooting without a back stop. The deputy spoke with subject about the complaint. He showed the deputy the area he was shooting in the field across the street. The deputy advised him it was an unsafe area to shoot and advised him he could no longer shoot there unless he makes a suitable backstop. The subject said he understood and states he was just practicing with a new gun and would no longer shoot there.

NO SWIMMING: Subjects cited for swimming in Ludlow Falls.

OVI: A deputy responded to State Route 36 and Alcony Conover Road for a hit-skip accident. The suspect’s vehicle was located in St. Paris where an officer made a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Judith Parks. She was cited for no license, failure to control, hit-skip. St. Paris Police Department arrested Parks for OVI.

Aug. 1

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: A resident in the 500 block of East Loy Road, Staunton Twp., reported items removed from her vehicle parked in a driveway.

FRAUD: A Concord Township resident reported an unknown subject used a credit card to purchase a firearm on E-Bay.

WARRANT: A deputy observed several subjects on property owned by Stillwater Church. The deputy advised the subjects they were trespassing. They stated they had come to the church to swim. A subject named Larry Taylor was found to have had an active warrant and was placed in custody.

ATV FOUND: An ATV was located in the 8200 block of Lauver Road, Pleasant Hill.

NO SWIMMING: A deputy was dispatched to the Ludlow Falls area for subjects swimming in the creek. All subjects who were swimming were cited and those who were on land were warned.
