Carl Bowman of Bowman Landis discussed: industry trends, the buy local market movement, sustainable farming, lowering the farms carbon footprint, nutrient management, GMO’s, antibiotics, and the Avian flu. Bowman Landis was funded in 1948 and four generations have worked at the farm in Bethel Township. Their fall flock of turkeys consists of 11,500 birds.
