Monroe Township Water and Sewer District Commission held a meeting on April 9. Since forming as a board and establishing bylaws, the group is now focusing on selecting an engineering firm that will help recommend direction of projects ahead for this commission.

Township maintenance staff continues to clear and cleanup cemeteries and properties as spring projects, including future attention to the basketball and tennis courts at Deerdale Park. Reports made at the April 2 meeting covered planned changes in the state and federal Environmental Protection Agency mandates in 2014, and the Miami County Sanitary Department recent advisement to Evanston Estates residents about future testing of storm water infiltration into the sanitary sewer system of that subdivision.

The next meeting for the township trustees is 7 p.m. April 16.
