WEST MILTON – Residents will no longer have to head to the liquor store or Versailles to get locally made wine, thanks to Old Mason Winery.

The Winery officially opens Monday, April 22, right off of Iddings Road. The winemaking business is a “hobby gone wild,” according to co-owner Jeff Clark.

Clark and his wife Donna, both of West Milton, partnered with Chuck and Sherry Compton of Tipp City to establish the vineyard.

College students may soon have another source for tuition funding.

The Ohio Senate unanimously passed Senate Bill 1, sponsored by State Senator Bill Beagle (R–Tipp City), on April 17. The bill, which Senator Beagle jointly sponsored with State Senator Troy Balderson (R–Zanesville), authorizes a revolving fund, which will provide loans to Ohioans for college tuition. The loans will be distributed through public and private colleges, universities, and career centers. The bill is geared toward helping Ohio’s unemployed and underemployed find work through continued education and job training.

“Over the past few years, my work in the Statehouse has revolved almost exclusively around stabilizing Ohio’s economy and providing jobs to those who need them most,” said Beagle. “Senate Bill 1 is the next step in making that goal a reality.”
