Lehman Catholic students compete in District Science Day

PIQUA – Ten students from Lehman Catholic High School participated in the Ohio Academy of Science Upper Miami Valley District Science Day, held at Edison State Community College in Piqua, Ohio on Saturday, March 9. Students from Champaign, Darke, Miami and Shelby counties exhibited projects in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Seven Lehman Catholic students received superior ratings, and several students received special awards and cash prizes.

Edison State’s Black History Month event to focus on American dream

PIQUA — The Diversity Committee at Edison State Community College is hosting a celebration of Black History Month with a special event focusing on the American Dream. The event will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. in the Robinson Theater at the Piqua Campus and is free and open to the community.

Edison State accepting scholarship applications

PIQUA — Edison State Community College is accepting applications for campus-based scholarships now through March 1, 2022. With the submission of one application, students will be considered for over 35 scholarships offered through The Edison Foundation and Edison State.

Christmas cheer at CAS

Christian Academy held their Christmas concert Tuesday, Dec. 7, in the Ralph J. Stolle gymnasium. Families and friends saw performances from Voices Eternal, fifth- and sixth-grade orchestra, and the combined middle school and high school orchestra. The evening started with the middle school and high school orchestra playing the national anthem. Christian Academy Schools is one of the few schools in the county to have an orchestra. Several of the high school students will be performing with the Upper Valley Community Orchestra at Christian Academy Schools Sunday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m.

The Edison Foundation raises over $50k with annual Holiday Evening event

PIQUA — The Edison Foundation held its 24th annual Holiday Evening at Edison State Community College on Wednesday, Dec. 1, raising $52,624. Over 400 guests attended the annual event, where they enjoyed heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, the company of others, and great music from four local performing artists.
